Manuscript Submissions

At Bookcraft, we are always looking for material that is fresh, new, and original. Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure that you familiarise yourself with our previous work, in order to ensure that it does not conflict with or mimic any of our existing titles, and furthermore, that your book, if published, would able to stand alongside these or supersede them in terms of quality. Although we have published poetry and drama, we generally do not accept manuscripts in these genres, unless recommended by an accomplished dramatist or poet. Submission guidelines are as follows:

Provide the first two (2) chapters of your manuscript — or any two that you feel best highlight its strengths and qualities. Please note that we will only acknowledge and review the required two chapters.

Email your chapters in MS Word format to manuscripts@bookcraftafrica.com. We will only review proposals submitted via email or through the form on our Contact page. We will not consider, accept or return hardcopy submissions.

Alongside your submission, please provide the following information:
Your background (2 - 3 lines)
A brief synopsis of your book
Your inspiration for writing it
Your intended audience & the reason for choosing this audience.

Please allow a minimum of 2-4 weeks, from the moment of submission, before we get back to you. If we have not responded to you within this period, it is likely that we have decided not to proceed to the next stage of publication.

Should you require any further information, please email info@bookcraftafrica.com.
